We spent Mother's Day brunch at Double Eagle, and overall it was a wonderful experience.
Unfortunately, we booked a little too late to reserve one of the famous historic dining rooms, but the restaurant itself was still absolutely beautiful. The historic atmosphere, elegant interiors, and even the famous ghost stories give this place a very special character.
The Mother's Day brunch buffet was $70 per person and honestly very good. The food quality exceeded our expectations. The buffalo steaks were excellent, the oysters were fresh, and the dessert table -- especially the chocolate fountain -- was fantastic. Bottomless champagne was included, the service throughout the meal was attentive and professional, and overall the experience felt festive and memorable.
The only disappointing moment happened as we were leaving. After paying our $140 check and leaving a $60 tip because my husband truly appreciates good service, a waiter who was not even our server stopped us near the exit and asked whether we had paid for our table. That moment honestly felt insulting and unnecessary, especially after such a pleasant experience.
Aside from that unfortunate interaction, Double Eagle was beautiful, memorable, and absolutely worth visiting for a special occasion. read more
