I've been wanting to try a Doughty donut for ages but everytime I made it to their stall in St George's Market where they started out they were always sold out and gone home. When they opened their own little shop in Smithfield I finally knew my mission to taste their doughnuts would be successful. Mission complete this weekend and I'm now a massive fan! When I walked in and seen the huge range of different flavours and toppings I felt like a kid in a sweet shop. It was so difficult to pick just one, eventually I went for the raspberry and marshmallow. It was epic- really fresh, with plenty of raspberryness (is that even a word?) and a chewy sticky marshmallow goo in the middle. Staff are friendly and the shop is really clean and tidy. These doughnuts are up there with the likes of Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts, I'd go as far as saying they are actually better. read more
