I went there last Sunday [been going to my storage unit there for ~20 years], and had an absolutely awful experience with their day guy [never had this experience before, so maybe it was simply a lack of maturity]. I was dropping a handful of some lightweight metal curtain rods and metal 18" flat shelf panels in the trash dumpster [clearly marked 'trash'] after going to my storage unit, and this random guy approaches me without identifying himself and verbally attacks me like a wannabe Ice Agent, assuming I'm someone he spoke with on the phone that angered him, telling me I can terminate my contract and leave if I don't like it ['it' being whatever happened on the phone call I wasn't part of]. After telling him twice I didn't call and wasn't whoever he was talking about - he kept talking over me and refused to identify himself when asked - he threatened to terminate my storage contract several more times 'if I wanted to argue with him', also telling me I couldn't put my lightweight curtain rods in the trash [or recycling] and I would be fined $500 if I didn't remove them. When I finally got him to calm down long enough to stop talking over me and instead tell me what he actually wanted, he demanded that I remove the curtain rods - from the dumpster marked trash! I hustled my 68-year old, abdominal-surgery-recovering ass over the lip of the dumpster to make Herr Little Pissant happy [also telling him to stop talking to me and go away].
On Monday I tried calling the owner, who thought the appropriate response was to have this abusive Ice Wannabe named Ryan [Larsen] call me - poor leadership begets poor behavior. What a piss-poor example of good business practices.
I see these nice reviews about the ladies who work there, and that has always been my experience [kudos to them] - get rid of this impulsive/abusive bozo! Otherwise .....
There's lots of storage units around town - LOOK / GO ELSEWHERE if you don't want to deal with a Ryan!
Given their business practices, I'll update if / when the owner shows the character / concern / business acumen to actually call me back like a human who cares about her customers and business reputation, or when they retaliate by terminating my lease as threatened by Ryan 3+ times [because, you know, if you argue with irrational behavior, they will threaten to terminate you because that's how they roll].
