I have been to a few spa's several times. I was very excited to try the new spa at the Island Resort and Casino. Honestly I wasn't expecting much more than a massage but boy was I wrong. I made my appointment over the phone with ease. The treatment I signed up for was the Sweet grass massage with the hot oil scalp treatment. The Spa is located on the 2nd floor of the hotel inside the Casino. I have stayed in this exact hotel and I was expecting to get off the elevator and see the same carpet and style as it was when I stayed there, not so. I got off the elevator I almost thought I was some place else. It was so different then before when it was just another floor of the hotel. The colors are gorgeous with tones of black and silver and blues. Immediately to the left I walked through the glass doors with the Drift logo. The receptionist was so nice and introduced me to the host (who btw was so sweet and attentive). She showed me to my locker room and before entering we stopped in the quiet room, just walked through. The locker room is a nice setup of several lockers. The locks are keyless which I found was a nice touch and very easy to get into. There are two showers, one with a bench. The only issue I found is that the one shower had the shampoo, conditioner and body soap on the floor which was hard to get to but I'm sure it has to do with them being just opened and they will fix this. I also hope they put another bench in the other shower so you have a place to put your things on. They offer a lovely scented Shampoo and thick conditioner also body soap. Also they offered mouth wash and had bottled waters. Another really nice touch was the brushes and combs, not your average spa flimsy combs either. The robes are ultra plush as are the towels with nice thick weaving. I than went into the relaxation room. It was lovely and very relaxing. The offerings are teas, water infused with lemon or cucumber, granola bars (Kashi), different luxury nuts and fruit. Everything was very nicely put out. They have a beautiful fireplace that gave the room a very nice ambiance. The chairs and couch were ultra comfy. It was time to get my scalp treatment done and the lady came to get me. She was very sweet and knowledgably about the spa's offerings. The room was labeled as each room is, this was the Sweet Grass room. In the room there is a gorgeous massage bed with nice blankets and a feather placed on it. She stepped out of the room for me to get undressed and on the bed and covered up. The lighting and music was perfect and I quickly got comfortable. I highly recommend the hot oil scalp treatment add on, it felt so luxurious. Once she was done she left the room and the Massage Therapist came in, her name was Savannah. She was amazing. I have had many massages from all over the country and no one has made me feel this good and so relaxed. I was in Heaven. Her hands worked out my kinks in my neck, I found myself nodding off a lot. I literally felt like she melted my stress away. If you ever find your way to this beautiful spa I would HIGHLY recommend requesting Savannah. You will not be disappointed.
