My parents, husband and I were regulars at 888 Bistro, ironically next door. It has been awhile since we'd been back because the quality and service wasn't consistently up to par. So, I found Dumpling World based on other Yelpers and thought we'd give them a try. Don't let the outside appearance deter you from giving them a chance. We were glad we did. The interior was very spacious, clean and bright. The second we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. We ordered the lunch specials, which come with a choice of soup and an appetizer. The lunch prices were good value for your money. The shrimp lunch specials were only a $1.00 more, which is unusual these days. The food came out fairly quick and was very tasty. I'm picky about my hot & sour soup. I like to make it at home when I have time. I'd give it an 8/10 it could've been slightly more sour and spicy. It was the perfect consistency of thickness and not runny just like the way my parents used to make it decades ago at their old restaurant, China Star. IYKYK! Coincidentally, down the street on Sealark! I had some extra chili oil and vinegar they had on the table so I added more flavor. The service and food were great.
