Generally I give Eamonn Rea's a wide berth - with three other pubs along Parkgate street, plus the ultra plush bar at The Ashling Hotel just a few minutes walk away, there's little draw for me here. For visitors eschewing the broad appeal of Nancy Hands, the Victorian refinement of Ryan's or Liam Walsh at the top of the block, Eamonn Rea's offers all the toasted cheese and pints you can consume.
Like most locals, this place has developed a following - possibly as a result of an eclectic music selection (Electronica nights, anyone?). Some regulars can border on the obnoxious while hanging out front for a smoke between pints, if that's not a deal breaker than this is your pub. read more
