I was really excited about this opening, but after getting there, the old adage, "You've been to one...you've been to them all" seemed appropriate.
First, I'm not sure what former space in Sherway the new Eataly occupies, but it isn't the old Nordstrom. This Eataly is maybe 1/3 of the size of the Manulife Centre spot as it's only 1 floor. It was squishy, but not as tight as their New York location. It was decently busy on Opening Day.
Like their other location, this Eataly has a gelato, café, sandwich counter, grocery, wine & beer (from Indie Ale House), 2 "restaurants" (1 proper one which is closed off to the rest of the public market).
I decided against dining here because I don't enjoy eating while a bunch of people are walking soo closely by. Essentially, you're eating at a fancy looking food court. The actual restaurant, La Pizza & La Pasta was quite dim and I'll probably end up dining there at some point.
Overall, Eataly is more about the experience. I'll update my review AFTER I end up eating there. read more
