The site is easy by public bus to Edirnekapı station, then a five-minute walk along Fevzi Paşa Street. The area is densely built-up, so arriving early in the day or even better visit Istanbul in the winter off season (but dress warmly and bring a good umbrella. A Midwestern rain suit or even a hunting suit might be good). This is the place to start Rick Steve's walking tour "City Walls and Neighborhoods," I highly recommend his Istanbul tour guide for this walk, it will take you all day and it is well worth your time. You can admire them at many points in Istanbul but I think it's best to combine the walls with a visit to the Kariye Museum (Chora Church) and the nearby Byzantine palace of Tekfur Saray in the Edirnekapı district. read more
