Had a good meal here while in town on an overnight. There isn't a lot going on and glad El Tapatio is.
The restaurant is located inside the hotel, but has its own walkway entrance from street side. Traditional original old school interior, has a certain charm to it, nothing fancy but clean, comfortable and plenty of space around you.
This eatery is family run and operated, and the service is friendly and kind. I had several different family members wait on me or stop by my table to check on me during my meal and visit.
I opted for the Chili Rellenos, a pair of beautifully prepared cheese filled rellenos with rice and beans, along with a lemonade. Served with a basket of house chips and two salsas. My entree was very good, the pablanos were nicy prepared and stuffed and breaded in a traditional manner. Flavorful and well seasoned, a solid choice if I like rellenos, this is a good plate.
I enjoyed my meal at a relaxed pace and made to feel at home while there. A fair price with good service. Worth a visit and your support.
