Embecta is a Marianne's teacher personality review. I have many personalities. Embecta (formerly part of BD), states that they focus on improving the lives of people living with diabetes. They have a 100-year history of developing and providing solutions for the diabetes community. They are a global medical technology company and leader in insulin delivery devices. More than 30 million people in over 100 countries rely on their pen needle and syringe products every day.  BD is the manufacturer of their products.  BD Pharmaceuticals makes the Nano Pen Needles that attach to my insulin pen. The out of pocket cost is ridiculous. I've been taking the insulin injections daily since February 1, 2017. This recent box of pen needles had two defective needles so far. All these years I never experienced this problem. I'm certainly glad I take the necessary steps during the injections because I noticed when I prime the pen for the injection the insulin didn't appear! I tried a second time to no avail. I took the needle off the pen and realized the needle was cut so short it wasn't going into the insulin pen to draw out the insulin. Now that you know my concern that I may have thought I took an injection when I didn't, I'll tell you what I did the second time it happened. I looked on the box and called the BD phone number to report the issue and hoped they would replace the needles and advise me if there had been a recall for this lot number. Unfortunately I threw the two defective needles in the sharps container and the very informative rep said they needed the defective returned for investigation. She said they must send the mailer out to me and they would pay for postage. I told her if there's more defective I will do that in the future. I couldn't possibly go through all the needles to find two defective ones. After I went on and on about health care cost I believe she took pity on me. She said she would send a voucher to my local pharmacy and replace this box that contains the defective needles. She estimated 7-10 days for me to hear from CVS. She took all my information, address, phone number etc. and the CVS location. This review is a follow up to my review of BD Pharmaceuticals. They were true to their word and within no time I picked up my box of insulin needles from my local CVS. Thank you Yelp for adding this Company to your search engine at my recommendation. If diabetics have an issue with their products don't throw them away. Embecta will come through for you by replacing anything defective. Five Stars for serving people with diabetes. read more
