There are two things about a park that really make it a winner for me: shade for those hot days and a gated area so mama can just relax a little. This park has both of these making it great! The structures are pleasant, simple, but still very fun. My youngest loved the forest truck that he could drive and play in while I sat in one of the many benches and watched. It also has a nice grassy space alongside it if your kids want to run around with a ball or have a picnic Although it doesn't offer bathrooms, across the street is the Encinitas public library (a really beautiful spot to stop so don't forget to do that!) that you could easily use and spend a few hours there as well making it a complete morning.
