I was looking for some unique pieces of furniture for my son's new place and I found this Asian antique shop around the corner from his apt.
There was a sign on the door to ring buzzer to the right of the door. I rung the buzzer and a couple seconds later the owner came and let me in. I took two steps in and said..."I was planning on picking up some pieces for my son's new place but I can tell right now that this is not in my budget...this is like a museum."
He did in fact say most of his sales are international and to museums. There is some amazing pieces like the Chinese Wedding Bed http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oFCo4w3V_uWis8qF78IzfA?select=krcXr8U-Elj-9kH5Xn0OQA and some amazing artwork too http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oFCo4w3V_uWis8qF78IzfA?select=3Y3VXp-kFI9ms19NUXGciQ
He explained that his wife's grandparents started this store and it is apparently the oldest Asian antique shop in the United States established in 1888.
There was even a book written about his wives family. http://www.lisasee.com/ongoldmountain.htm
I walked out empty handed but if you have a chance to stop by or know someone that collects antiques there are some amazing pieces here. [see photos]
