I had Fencepro replace part of my fence and retaining wall in 2010. I never got any type of warranty from them and after 6-7 years the fence/retaining wall started to lean. When I called and left a message a receptionist replied back that there should have been a warranty. There wasn't any with the original contract that we signed. I recently called them up and mentioned the I did not know about the 10 year warranty and it's now 15 years later. I spoke with Fencepro owner and he told me that even if I had a warranty it was the material that went bad. Since I hired another contractor and who incidentally just had finished a similar fence on the other side of our house that has both a fence and a longer retaining wall which lasted more than 30 years. It was built with some thought and ingenuity that FencePro lacks. They put in a simple system to drain the water to the street and put plastic on the posts just above and below ground to help protect the wood. They realize that wood easily rots when they get wet! When they removed the posts there was minimal wear on the 30 year old posts. On the side Fencepro did, the wood was completely rotten since no other measures were were take to insure its longevity. They may do a job quickly, but I believe they lack expertise in building quality retaining walls. I recommend that you find someone who ismore qualified, and is quality conscienous that knows how to build and make a lasting retaining wall! Below are my pictures. Judge for yourself! read more
