So I've gone to this market today before and I'm like oh my goodness this is my people that I didn't stop and then the next day he was standing outside and asked if I wanted to sample the brisket gumbo and I'm like brisket gumbo but I am like just try it You'll love it so I did and I do love it. Wow, I was blown away. I am from Louisiana and my heritage so I know a good gumbo and it was amazing tasting with a brisket in it. The red beans and rice was amazing. Regular gumbo that he makes was amazing and no wonder he's has a storefront and is extremely successful so I went back to the hotel and my friend had gone to the market on her own, but I hadn't had a chance to tell her about it and she is from Louisiana and when she came back. She had a whole container full of gumbo and devoured it in the hotel room. It really brought me back to my childhood and a ton of memories of enjoying gumbo at Christmas time with my family and plus it was cold outside when I went to Nashville, so it was perfect warmed my insides. I had a little bit of nostalgia and the owner is Personable , excellent cook, and very kind. We talked about our childhood and the different seasoning that he put in his gumbo to what we put in our gumbo was the same except for the smoked brisket&turkey or chicken smoked. Game changer kicked it up about five notches so if you go to the market, by the bicentennial park, that's where he's located. read more
