This quaint little fish and chip shop also serves prepared salads and quite an array of seafood. I had the "Seadog", which is a platter of calamari, fish, scalloped potato and chips. The chips were crispy and delicious and the fish was fresh and tender. However, the calamari was tough and lacked calamari flavor. All these items have a crumbly style batter rather than a beer/tempura style batter and I think I prefer the later.
I wish I tried the prepared salads behind the glass window as those looked appetizingly colorful. I wouldn't order the fried food again, but there was enough promise in these dishes for me to want to explore the rest of the menu.
This is basically the only restaurant within a few blocks of the green bridge (Eleanor Schonell Bridge), so if you are hungry after crossing from UQ to the other side of the river via bike or foot, this is a nice relaxing place to stop. The food came out quickly and there is a homey outdoor seating area for you to enjoy your food. read more
