Flagler Park is a liner park is that the base of the Roosevelt Bridge and runs at along the St. Lucie River. After the Stuart railway depot was moved to the south side of the St Lucie River passenger and freight depots, railway spurs, boat docks and a ferry landing came together to form the nucleus of the pioneer town of Stuart. Flagler Park is in what was the community's former commercial center. The only building that remains from that time is the former General Merchandise Store which is today the Stuart Heritage Museum.
When you visit Flagler park today you can dine outside at the Pelican Cafe. The park has curved pathways, palm trees, a ship playground with swings, a basketball court, and a wooden boardwalk on the water, and a fishing pier. Under the bridge there is another path where you can cross the St Lucie River. The views of the St. Lucie River from the park are stunning. During the Fourth of July the park is the perfect place to catch Stuart's fireworks display. read more
