Gladys' Kitchen is a staple in the community, synonymous with Southern hospitality and comfort food--and they did not miss!
From the moment we walked in, it felt like visiting your favorite aunt's house on a Sunday after church. The food was hot and fresh, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Everything was well-seasoned, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The dressing was a tad dry but still flavorful. The collard greens may have been cooked with pork, which I don't eat, so I didn't have them--but I did taste them. They were finely cut, well-seasoned, and definitely not from a can.
As I was leaving, I was asked about my experience, and I later realized I was speaking with Ms. Gladys herself. She was sitting in the lobby, observing and ensuring that everyone had a great dining experience.
I highly recommend this place for both the food and the hospitality. This feels like "down home" read more
