I was intrigued by the events posted via IG. I decided to attend the bake sale event scheduled on Valentine's Day (2/14/26). Good Luck Bread's production facility is located a block north of Jack's BBQ and adjacent to Kitchen & Market's production site at S Bradford and Airport Way S.
Clearly this is on people's radar screen. 40 minutes prior, I saw someone start the queue and was reading a book to pass the time. So I joined her shortly thereafter. By noon, there were 20 people behind me for the opening at noon and the parking lot slots were full.
We were greeted promptly at noon as the suite 110 door opened. The first person in line clearly was a regular, as her bag was filled with a variety of baked goods totaling a significant amount.
This gave me the opportunity to look at the lovely artisan loaves arranged on a Metro rack. I tried both of the cubed bread samples available. Nice crumb and tasted delicious! There were also platters of cookie varieties, heart shaped frosted cookies in takeout boxes, packaged frozen pizzas, bottles of wine, and enticing stacks of jambon au beurre focaccia sandwiches available for purchase.
I lamented that I could not justify buying an artisan bread loaf at this time. However, I splurged instead buying one of each cookie and one of the focaccia sandwiches. Very pleasant and welcoming owners onsite. This is one of those businesses where it is desirable to be early to gurantee product availability.
I can vouch over the Valentine's Day / Presidents Day holiday weekend, the cookies were delicious with either cold milk, or freshly brewed tea or coffee. Fairly good sized, fresh crisp edges with soft inner chew, delicious!
I saved the featured focaccia sandwiches for dinner later. The contents were generous, filling, and the flavors melded well with the thinly sliced French ham, arugula, pickled onions, whipped parmesan butter, and mustard seeds.
Note: this is a production kitchen set up with freshly prepared items for takeout purchase. There is no onsite seatimg. I suppose one could start eating in the car, lol.
I will definitely return to try more baked goods, maybe a loaf of bread, and cllaim my forgotten Valentine designed for Good Luck Bread by @zackporchlight. Follow them via IG for future scheduled events @goodluckbread. Again, another amazing indie business to support and celebrate! read more
