My family has made an outing to Grille 59 at the Moon Valley Country Club about twice a year, and last night was our latest visit. We make a reservation in advance and typically go to the dining room and just order off the menu. Once upon a time, we also did their July 4th buffet. We have always appreciated the great service and the food is good, too. Last night, we arrived to the recently renovated dining room. There was a prime rib and salad bar buffet though the four of us in my party each ordered off the menu. We started with an appetizer of Crispy Brussels (Caesar, truffle pecorino, bacon, fig balsamic, and foccacia bread crumb). It was delicious and they placed certainly ingredients on the side for us. I then ordered a Moon House Burger (hand pressed patty, balsamic onions, chipotle mayo, baby Brie, cheddar, lettuce, roasted Roma tomatoes) and fries. I really enjoyed the burger though I wasn't as impressed by the seasoned beer-battered fries (that my wife enjoyed). My wife ordered a Crispy Chicken Cobb (hearts of romaine, craisins, bleu crumbles, bacon, heirloom tomatoes, hard boiled egg, and avocado with local honey mustard). She shared her crispy chicken with me. My sister ordered the Poke Bowl (shaved cabbage, sticky rice, edamame, seaweed salads, cucumbers, avocado, ginger, wontons, poke tuna, bang bang sauce, green onions, and togarashi) while our last guest enjoyed Sharable Bang Bang Shrimp (tempura shrimp, sweet chili aioli sauce, and green onions). Everyone enjoyed their meals. For my sister's birthday, we received a pazooki (pizza cookie) with four small chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. Needless to say, we enjoyed the meal! We also appreciated two managers stopping by to check in on us. The server was also very helpful! Grille 59 is named after Annika Sorenstam's historic LPGA record low round, with a 13 under par 59 in 2001. It features panoramic views of the championship golf course with majestic pine trees, lush green grass, and spectacular sunsets. The restaurant uses fresh local and seasonal ingredients in its dishes, and the menus change with the seasons. Over the years, we have seen the various dining rooms and the club in general change based on the needs of its members. You can go to the Grille 59 website at https://www.moonvalleycc.com/dining and find where you can make a reservation, download a menu, place an online order, and learn about promotions. They are open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday and for lunch everyday except for Monday. Lunch service is from 10 AM to 5 PM on Tuesday (11-5 bar service), lunch/dinner service is from 11 AM to 9 PM on Wednesday through Saturday (11-9 bar service), and brunch service on Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to noon (lunch from 12-5 PM and bar open until 5 PM). We look forward to returning again in the future! read more
