5 Stars All The Way! Located in a very busy plaza with tons of other shops, yoga, and fitness facilities this plaza has lots of parking as well as street parking. I discovered GritCycle shortly after moving to LB and took my first class in October 2021 and I don't regret it. I had an idea of what indoor cycling was but never really looked much into it, I was looking for something new and exciting to get me motivated into working out again. I signed up for a free class and I was immediately hooked, after that first class I knew it was something I wanted to continue in my weekly routine. If it's your first time attending make sure you check in at the front desk and let them know, they will have a staff member help you set up your bike and show you how to lock in your shoes. Don't feel embarrassed to ask, it took my about 3 classes before I could remember how to set up my bike on my own. I've tried a few instructors and they have all been great but I get the most inspired and motivated when I take Sammy's Class. Sammy is so fun and motivating, he always has the best music playlist... My fav is when he plays his fav Britney Spears, it's like a club but without the drinking lol Most classes have a short section of a guided hand weight routine. Weights are provided, you can choose the weight of your hand weights before class starts. The bikes do not have a screen to tell you how many calories you have burned or so on so if your looking for something that gives you your workout info you might want to bring something with you, I just use my Apple Watch and that works great for me. After every class the staff comes around and hands out small cold wet towels to help cool you down and after a 45 min ride those things feel like heaven lol I love the whole environment and atmosphere. Everything is well organized and and always clean. The Blue room is were it all goes down, one big room with tons of cycling bikes, fans on the walls (it gets hott and sweaty), loud speakers, and blue lights that light up the room. This location has a very nice restroom set up and a shower in case you need to freshen up before leaving. They have a water fill station (bring a water container) and plenty of free lockers to secure your items while you ride. They also have other location along with the newest location on PCH and 2nd. If you're a bit interested in trying it out I would highly recommend you do. Download the app and try the first class for free using Code: Blue They also rent shoes for $2 a class which is great while seeing if it's something you would like so you don't invest in shoes before hand. FYi: The instructors lead the class and sometimes it can be hard or confusing but the best part is NO ONE IS WATCHING YOU so you go at your own pace and speed. Once you get the hang of it you'll be like me and own your first pair of cycling shoes lol Hope to ride with you soon :) SYoY! read more
