The plant nursery is neglected. The wee plant office is now seemingly permanently closed and the door, after decades of being open to the parking lot for green-thumbed shoppers' easy access, is shut with a padlock. There does not seem to be any dedicated staff in the plant zone anymore either. (Please see the photos I posted of neglected, dead and toppled over plants. It's a big bummer.)
The Hassett take-over of this ACE may or may not have anything to do with the dismantling/obvious neglect of this part of the store. I'd be curious to see what the owner might say about what's happening in the formerly verdant back corner of this compound. Maybe he'll respond...?
The rest of the shop is mostly fine. Staff are either helpful or not. Folks who work there are either professional and courteous or not. This would seem to be par for the course for most retail shop experiences nowadays. read more
