I'll start off with the not great part. The wifi here can be a pain to connect to. The first time that I went to Herman Schulz, my friend and I spent about 30 minutes trying to connect even though we had the right password. Ever since, my laptop connects just fine but my phone is still unable to connect. Now the good stuff: The lattes here are creamy! They're made with fair trade coffee and bio milk. You can also order soy or lactose-free milk at no additional cost. The chocolate cherry cake with the pudding topping is full of flavor without being heavy like a chocolate flourless cake, for example. They offer three to four types of cake per day with two of them being vegan. They're made daily, as I see on of the owners making them behind the counter. The prices for coffee and cake are reasonable. They're certainly lower than other cafes with wifi in the Boxi/Frankfurter Allee area. I enjoy coming here with my laptop and taking a seat on one of the vintage chairs even if I only have an hour of work to do. I hope to come back on a weekend evening and try out one of their many board games. read more
