It was my last day in Paris and it's a Sunday. I wanted to get one thing for myself in Paris and thanks to Yelp and reviews, I headed up to the Marais to check out Heriones. I'm SO glad I did. Suzanne helped me and while my high school French would barely have gotten me through, her English was wonderful and I left with the "Midnight in Paris" dress. She was lovely, kind, and helpful. This is quite an experience with many salespeople in this small boutique. They run across the back alleyway to get extra sizes and shoes.
You may end up waiting for a dressing room, and it's a little disconcerting when three people are all trying on the same dress. But never fear, it does in fact look different on each woman. Thrilled that they went up to size 16 (which is an American 14) and had lots of adorable shoes. Sadly, someone had purchased all their size 40 shoes (American 8.5) the week before.
You can get the 12% back form from Heroines. Be sure to have your passport (or a copy of it) on you and later, allow tons of time at the airport because the directions are confusing and every person you talk to at the airport will give you a different answer.
Heriones is on a marvelous street with shops and cafes. The trip to Heriones is totally worth it on its own, or give yourself extra time to toodle.
