Today was our first visit to this beautiful brand spankin' new ballpark, home of the Amarillo Sod Poodles. The team has been having sell out home games and I can see why. This ballpark is wonderful!
There are SO MANY food options... we ate before coming to the ballpark so we can't recommend anything in particular. I like how there are food kiosks scattered around so you don't HAVE to go into the crowded concourse. Out in left field there is a neat bar, Bar 352, serving the usual beer as well as mixed drinks. I noticed a lot of table seating areas around the ballpark.
For the littles, there is kids play area. The playground was nice but was pretty crowded. I didn't really like how BIG kids would be on it. Climbing where they shouldn't be, etc. there should be an age limit. There were a few inflatables out too but those were $$.
As for parking, there were many $5 lots scattered around the stadium. We found some free street parking.
The game was delayed about an hour due to all the rain they had last night/today. The field was too soft/wet. This was a slight inconvenience due to having 3 kids 5 and under to keep occupied.
We'd love to come back again when in town. read more
