Hooks Mobile Blasting was an epic find. I drove my 1970 Cutlass Supreme from Las Vegas to Chicago to restore it with my father in Chicago. I found Hooks on the internet and contacted him to get a quote for the entire car and a set of Rallye Wheels. The price was great in my opinion, so I set up an appointment to have the care taken down to bare metal. Hooks came out to look at the car and give a quote and then we set the appointment. Hooks was on time the day of the appointment and got to work right away. The entire process took about 9 hours, which when you compare that to stripping the paint off with paint remover or 40 grit sandpaper, I think you'll agree that this is the way to go about getting your vehicle taken down to bare metal. They blast the car with a sand and glass mixture and pump it through a pressure hose with liquid to cool the steel so it doesn't warp. They also add a rust inhibitor that lasts 3 days so it doesn't flash rust. Once the surface is stripped it is ready for primer within 72 hours. I can not recommend Hooks Mobile Blasting enough, he was professional and kept me in the loop on everything he was doing and things he discovered during the blasting process.
