Bristol Hotel is all about their daily deals and happy hour specials. It seems that it would be a bit of a let-down to pay full price for food here while there are so many other good options in the area. The atmosphere is that of a relaxed pub with pool tables upstairs (this is not a hotel anymore). The food is basic pub fare. And that word basic really sums up the Bristol Hotel experience for me. Basic. If you are hungry and want modest pub food without surprise, Bristol is good utility. If you are looking for a pub that really encapsulates and radiates a Kiwi or Wellington experience, this isn't it. The Fish Burger was alright. It's fresh, cooked well, and served with chips, but the bun is dense and distracting. The burrito is a predictable let down if you have any expectations whatsoever.
