I was a bit surprised that there were no reviews on this place since it seems like an established mom and pop's store. Although I will say that it seemed like a shadier area of the University District as I went on a rainy morning and there were still a handful of unique characters wondering nearby. Anyway, I went here after the 7-eleven down the street did not have any Odwalla-- let alone the Mango Tango flavor my wife wanted. Therefore, imagine my surprise when I see a Mango Tango Odwalla in a fridge right when I walk in. It was the last one as well :) Crazy that this small mini mart would have this drink and not the corner store monster that is 7-eleven. In addition to having my Odwalla, I was also thrilled that they carried my Itoen green tea. Since I've been in Seattle, I'd say only about 2 out of 10 convenience stores I've visited have carried the Itoen brand. Prices appeared reasonable as I bought the Odwalla, 2 green teas, a can of Coke, and a mini size bottle (the kine they serve on airplanes) of cabernet sauvignon all for about $11.50. Aside from the above, this place carries the standard mini mart fare including a wide variety of drinks and alcohol, candy, etc. I will fault them for having only a very limited selection of some traditional snack foods. Lastly, the male employee was friendly enough. After I left the place I looked them up online and saw back in January of this year, a customer (probably a chronic) shoplifted some items and stabbed the young employee who chased her. Between that, what I saw when I went there, and the dozens of different glass pipes and bongs for sale in this place, I am guessing that this place does attract the shadier element. Therefore, perhaps it might just be better to stop by during daytime hours. read more
