I purchased a two day one night pig hunt in an auction at a ducks unlimited dinner. I have never been on a guided hunt before and have mostly hunted public land. I have spent 37 years trying to get my first pig. I have never really wanted a guided hunt because I thought the guy would drive you up to a pig and say shoot it. Kind of like shooting a pig in a pen. I was wrong. We saw a lot of pigs and it would have been easy for the guide to say shoot that one and be done with it. Eli was our guide and he made sure we had fun, but also worked his but off to get us on some good pigs. It was definitely more of a hunt than I thought it would be. You have the option of goi for a big boar (which doesn't taste good) or going for a really good eating pig. It is hard to get a hold of the owner to schedule a hunt or finalise everything but that's because he is working and scouting. Keep trying him and you won't be disappointed.
