K-Bop was one of my go-to spots back when I was in college in Austin. The staff was always friendly, and I loved the beef bulgogi and kimbap. They always packed generous portions that could easily stretch into three meals, almost like a meal plan for the week. The beef bulgogi was always flavorful and paired perfectly with the glass noodles and rice.
Now that I live outside of Austin, I tried the K-Bop in San Marcos since it was closer, but the quality felt noticeably different. The sauce tasted generic and not as well balanced, and even the vegetables weren't seasoned or cooked the same way. They also added way too much mayo, which made the dish heavy, though I know some people prefer it that way. On the positive side, the San Marcos location does have more seating. Overall, it was fine, but not quite the K-Bop I remembered. read more
