New Vietnamese and Thai place with modern decor, tables very close together, and decent parking outside. Lunch visit with a sizable crowd, just one server, and one runner, affecting service.
-- Vegetable Triangles: Tasty little crispy bite-sized pillows with curry spiced vegetables, but tastier to take two bites and double-dip into the chili sauce, though the flavor is fine without it. Think mini samosas.
-- Papaya Salad: Half the plate was lettuce and cucumber. The other half had a zesty mix of papaya, green beans, cherry tomatoes, peanuts, and a thin dressing, with a few shrimp underneath. Not bad, but a little lacking. Probably wouldn't order this again.
-- Vegetable Pad Thai: Nicely not drowning in liquid and not too sweet.
-- Khao Soi: The classic dish that's typically chicken in curry broth, soft noodles underneath, crispy noodles on top, plus pickled mustard greens, lime, and raw onion. Odd red color broth instead of the usual yellow. The noodles on top were short of crispy, but the chicken was outstanding: plentiful, soft, and cooked in, not just thrown in from the fridge at the end as an afterthought. Mustard greens had only light pickling and the broth wasn't as plentiful as the chicken. But an interesting rendition for sure, and perfect for the right person.
