Meet La Querida, a new kid is on the block for Mexican eats in the Metrotown area. Having opened 7 months ago and hearing positive reviews, I new I had to make a visit! La Querida is on the perimeter of Crystal Mall, it's a small restaurant with about 5 tables insides - wouldn't recommend bringing a large group here without giving them a heads up first. We came for lunch and lucky for us they have a lunch combo - 4 tacos and 1 drink is $18. You can mix and match your tacos (choose between asada (beef), chorizo (pork), chicken tinga, carnitas (pork), pastor (pork), mushrooms, beans or rajas); drinks include horchata, hibiscus or canned soda. La Querida felt like eating at someone's home, with as much attention and love put into the food. It was authentic, tacos were all about the filling topped with cilantro and onion with 3 sauces to sprinkle on top as you please. We ordered guac and chips and two lunch combos. Everything was delicious! I ordered the vegetarian tacos, and all were so good, my favorite would be the mushroom. Their guacamole was seasoned and flavorful.
