Oh. My. Conchas. What started out as a well intentioned stop for two take-away tortas turned into a binge buying extravaganza when I was face to face with some of the most glorious pastries I've ever seen. Racks upon racks of fresh conchas, doughnuts, churros, cakes, cookies, pan dulce (buns), rolls, pan francés - all fresh from the oven. I launched into my own personal Veruca Salt moment as I couldn't leave until my bag (okay, bags) were completely stuffed. My torta paled in comparison, as anything would after my dessert first course. However the bread roll it was on? Incredible.
