I think pleasantly surprised is a good way to sum up this restaurant. We walked around Old Town for a while looking for a place to eat that wasn't overly priced and had some good small plates. La Taberna fit the bill. I enjoyed a class of white sangria (although the menu only offers wine & sangria in bottles its possible to order single glasses). We ordered the "Popcorn of Brie" which was essentially just deep fried Brie, but it was really tasty! We also ordered the broken eggs with ham, the guacamole and the ham croquettes. All 3 dishes were good, and satisfied our hunger. We finished up with the Flan and the churros. The Churros didn't have much favor, but were saved by the chocolate sauce that came with them. The flan was good. If you need some place to stop in Old Town, LA Taberna works. read more
