We decided to have dinner in Midleton after the Jameson whiskey tour and took one of Conor's (a bartender from the tour) recommendations to La Trattoria. And we are glad we did!! The place was small but felt newly remodeled and like all the other restaurants in Ireland so far, the staff was very nice. We had pasta (penne Bolognese) and a spicy pepper and sausage pizza. Both were good, not the best we've ever had but we were happy with our decision to go there. After we ate, we started chatting with the couple next to us. We were impressed that they managed to eat a plate of chicken wings as a starter and soup, followed by a full Irish dinner for him, and a large salad for her. They were likely equally impressed that we finished our pizza, garlic bread and most of the pasta, followed by a HUGE piece of chocolate cake and ice cream! The only negative review about this little restaurant was that the bathroom was dirty. We would still recommend, and hopefully that's a non-issue for anyone else.
