New York style pizza has moved to Maine! Lately's is Hallowell's newest rising star in the pizza game. Located on the edge of downtown, Lately's is serving up NY style pizza, breakfast all day (and night on the weekends), along with select signature sandwiches. The NY style pizza has the perfect char, does not droop, and the toppings do not slide off. Perfectly balanced with cheese to sauce to dough, I cannot get enough - especially when slices are huge and just $2.99! I have only had their pizza but the staff and atmosphere are warm, sunny, and super friendly. Their shop is easily accessed from Water Street where there is tons of free parking and is steps away from Granite City Park (you know - the place with the chairs). Lately's takes card and cash, and also offers Coke products, self serve coffee, and a selection of cold adult beverages! There is plenty of inside seating, but, in my opinion, the red table outside in the sun on the sidewalk is where I like to chill. NY style pizza is alive and well at Lately's in Hallowell. read more
