While strolling in the Marais neighborhood, we walked past Le Oken & doubled back; their sidewalk tables looked so inviting, we just had to have lunch here.
Our waiter was cheerful & funny, & one of the few who didn't hit us for a tip (as some tend to do to Americans who might not realize service is included in menu pricing.) We tipped anyways, but it was nice not to be asked for once on our trip.
My dining partners were pleased with their orders of scallops (16 €), charcuterie (21 €), & Niçoise salad (21 €.) I also enjoyed my picks of artichoke hearts (13 €) topped with chopped hazelnuts, a heavy pour of olive oil, & shaved parm, as well as French onion soup (10 €) with a sharp-tasting comte cheese.
An excellent leisurely lunch on a street made for shopping & people watching. Highly recommended to stop at Le Oken to recharge. read more
