The Leith Library is situated in a beautiful classic building, built around 1929. I went there to get a Web Hosting reference book which I found in the Science & Technology section, obviously. The borrowing and return process can be done at their automated kiosks, and is a pretty straight forward process. I'll advise you to get a printed ticket for your records every time a book is returned, just in case. Its interior is luminous and spacious. They claim that they have WiFi, but somehow I could not connect using my Library number and password, no matter how hard I try, several times on different days, no luck. The book and media collections are adequate considering that it isn't a big building, but it helps a lot. Books' availability for borrowing can be checked on-line (Your Library website) which is pretty useful as they can exactly tell you where and how many copies are available by scanning all Edinburgh Libraries. The Leith Library is a good culture starting place for Leith residents as they offer Book Groups, MSP's surgeries, IT beginners' computer classes, room hire, etc. The building, IT system and media collection might be in need of some extra investment through the Edinburgh Council, though. read more
