We pulled up for cookies. Left with six cookies, two hats, and the Ligers origin story.
Ligers window is brand new, literally only a few days old and the whole thing happens through a little walk-up window. The menu keeps it simple: chocolate chip, tahini, or lemon-filled. Add milk, a latte or matcha and you've got yourself an afternoon.
Naturally, we ordered half a dozen. Two of each, because research.
They told us it would be a few minutes because ours were still in the oven, which sounded like a win... until two came out so fresh they melted through the bag. Not warm. Not fresh. Fighting-for-their-lives fresh.
The survivors? 10/10. That perfect middle ground between chewy and firm, with so much flavor in every bite. No unnecessary theatrics, just a really, really good cookie.
We loved them enough to walk back for the Ligers hats, which is how we ended up talking to Julian, the owner. He told us he's a full-time photographer who tried an incredible cookie on a trip to Canada and came home wondering why he couldn't find anything quite like it here. Then 2020 happened, he got into the kitchen, and after plenty of trial and error, he finally landed on the cookie.
Mix that with a photographer's eye, an artist's creativity and a really cool vision....voilà, Ligers.
But our favorite part might've been the people behind it. Julian was incredibly humble and sweet, the girl working the window made us feel welcome from the second we walked up, and you can tell there's a lot of heart behind this little window.
