Lip Lab was such a fun experience! They recently moved to a new location a few days ago, which is just further down & on the same street as their old location on Pier 4 Blvd. They also have an express pop-up location on Northern Ave, where they accept walk-ins (no appt necessary) & you can choose from 4 premade lip shades, 4 scents, optional shimmers/shine, lip cases, and custom engraving. I had an appt earlier today here with Nathalie and she was the sweetest! She is the store manager and she helped me curate the prettiest mauve-y pink shade of lipstick. I chose to do a sheer lipstick with the additional of a lip liner (+$20) because I have sooo many lip glosses and lip balms but over the years, I noticed I haven't touched lipsticks in a very long time. I discovered the sheer lipstick was perfect for me after doing a quick swatch of the samples of lipsticks: matte, satin, and sheer. The sheer option is still pigmented enough & I appreciated that it can be built up, while not feeling dry. We did tried three different shades & my favorite ended up being the last one. The first shade she made for me was exactly what I'd typically go for; a true mauve with berry pink. I loved it but wanted something a little different. The second shade she made for me was more of a terracotta; mauve with hints of orange. It was pretty but I think would be best for me as a fall shade! The last shade she made for me, which I ended up going with, had more hints of pink and less red/orange. This was similar to the first swatch she created but slightly lighter. I paired this with a premade lip liner called mauve motif, which was a little darker than the lipstick shade, to get some dimension for the lip combo! The entire experience was 1 hr, which includes finding the shades you're looking for, mixing the finishing product(s), choosing the cases, scents, and engravings. The total ended up being ~$97 for the sheer lipstick + lip liner, with the 20% off lipstick. Overall, definitely a bit pricey BUT it is a fun experience & Nathalie was a vibe!
