Three stars but with caveats. If you came to Venice with the intention of buying glass do visit Murano. All other reviews I've seen, here and in the guide books are accurate. These guys are nice and slick. To get a good deal YOU MUST HAGGLE. I don't know what the markup is, the glassware is fine art, but my guess is it's very steep. (We got them down about one third by making our way out.) The experience is somewhat similar to buying a car in Ametica, but more posh. If you don't want to spend $€£, enjoy the free ride over - ours was George Clooney style in a private taxi, see the astounding sales gallery and glass blowing demo, suffer the sales pitch and beat your way out the door. Don't worry, you won't sleep with the fishes. If you do buy, enjoy your purchase and the comfy ride back to Venice they'll provide.
PS we went in low season and they don't work every day. read more
