My final Italian meal in Germany was this very popular joint I stumbled upon on Yelp! Located in a section of Berlin populated with rows of restaurants, this place is happening right now for locals. We went without a reservation and that was a big mistake. Luckily they found one small table for the three of us, but otherwise, the inside and outside dining was overflowing. They also speak little to no English so hopefully you speak German. I think we only go the table because the maitre'd figured giving us a table was easier than trying to figure out what I was saying. Haha!
While not as amazing as the two other places I reviewed in Berlin that were also Italian, it was pretty good. We ordered the margherita pizza to start and it tasted good. Sadly it asked for it crispy or well done and they couldn't understand so it was not undercooked but pale as heck. The carbonara was okay but had cream - a big no, no - and was too heavy to finish. The chicken verde (a green peppercorn sauce) was very good and I would highly recommend it. The spaghetti bolognese was pretty good but not as good as other places we tried in Berlin. Still, I would recommend trying this place. Just make sure you have a reservation! read more
