This morning, my Lyft driver robbed me. He drove off with my purse, which of course is the home to my wallet, passport, cash, MacBook, iPad and phone. I never had a reason to try to contact Lyft over the phone so imagine my surprise when I use my neighbors phone to call a customer service line that led to a voicemail which prompted me to reach out via the app. Hmm. Well, sure, I could if I had my phone. This led to a round Robin of frustration, helplessness and fear. I called the police and they couldn't help me because the description of the driver and his tags were non existent without my phone, or, at the very least access to a customer service agent who could pull up my profile to help.
I was also charged $80 bucks to be robbed because the thief drove to my end destination and marked the drive as complete. I have no recourse because Lyft customer service is literally unavailable via old fashioned 1-800 number. read more
