Visit date: August 4, 2017 First time: No Reason for visit: First Friday Pop-Up I have a few maker friends who have studio spaces at Makers Workspace and it's always great to visit. For artists and makers, the space provides an environment conducive to creating. For visitors, there's lots to see. Some artists have open studio hours so you can purchase work or see them in action. There are a few common areas and a space in front that they are using as a public workshop and event space. On this visit, I came to see their First Friday Pop-Up which is a new event they are trying out. Earlier in the week I visited for a crafty workshop with one of the resident makers. They also hold Second Saturday Open Studio Hours and co-host and participate in the Gilman Art Walk. Parking is street, and if you're into beer, Fieldwork is right next door. Winning! read more
