My sisters, my daughter and I all knew we'd be elbow and knee deep helping decorate my niece's wedding venue the morning of 6/27 after traveling from New York. And you can't tackle a wedding setup on an empty stomach. Can you?
I'm not talking about eggs and pancakes. I'm talking pastelitos de guayaba (or guava to you)! My daughter was more focused on getting a colada- though she enjoy the pastelito de guayaba. Marlin's B., near the Kendall area in Miami, was the perfect stop since it was right on the way to the wedding venue. This was the perfect grab-and-go.
Marlin's is in a strip mall [seriously, is there an eatery in Miami that isn't in one? ;-) ] Depending on what time you get here, there might be a wait, but hang tight because there are several ladies behind the counter keeping things flowing.
If there's one tip: know what you want before you get up front. Marlin's looks like this isn't the place to stand there staring at the menu or twiddle your thumbs. Order straight to the point and you'll be in and out in no time.
The pastelitos were exactly what we needed for energy the morning of the wedding prep and my sisters and daughter loved the coffee. The next time I'm in Miami, Marlin's B. will definitely be one of my first stops. read more
