Been a loyal customer at Max Nails for the past three years but after today's service, I am never coming back. Made an appointment for a pedicure and Emmy was my technician. I opted for the Class Pedicure for $40 but was charged an extra $15 for shellac (did not realize she was doing this until we were at checkout and I was shocked by my total price), an add on that I did not requested for but Emmy decided on her own to do this. During the pedicure, Emmy barely cut my cuticles, scrub the dead skin off my feet, and the massage was lackluster. At the end of the pedicure service, I asked her if it was possible to just have my nails cut and clean which is usually around $20 at other nails salon that I went to in the past. During the cleaning of my nails, I had to ask her to file my nails (she was leaving them sharp) and rounded it. She barely cut my cuticles. It was like she was making the movement but wasn't cutting anything. My hands look like I had cut them at home (see photos). But she charged me $29 for this service!! I asked her is that your typical price for cleaning nails and she said its the same price if I was to do regular polish! If I knew it was the same price I would've gotten it painted regularly. I told her I did not know that since I usually get shellac for my nails since they peel faster when you do regular and she didn't even offer to paint them and just gave me a smile. My total was $84, and I ONLY GOT MY FEET PAINTED. I felt swindled because Emmy was not communicative on pricing nor services. She never asked me if I want regular or gel/shellac and never offer to paint my nails even though its the same price. Usually the service and techs here are very honest and sweet but today's appointment made me very disappointed and I will not be returning. TDLR: Do not have Emmy as your tech, her service is lackluster but you will pay premium prices. Ask for prices and communicate what you want so they can't add on and charge you for things you did not ask for!!! PS: This isn't about prices since I just took my sisters and mom here in June and spent over $500. This is about low quality of service and swindling customers by adding things on without them requesting for it!! read more
