Angel at Maxwell Construction is a small, but terrific neighborhood resource for Maxwell Park and other Oakland-area homeowners. Need a small roof repair? Or how about a whole roof redo? Need painting? Drywall, framing, carpentry? Or just some guys to come over to clear out your weed filled back yard or build your shed? This guy and his team do pretty much everything. And they'll do it often on the same day and have about the lowest quotes of any contractor I've ever used. I probably wouldn't hire them to build me a new house, since that's not really their area of expertise and they're not specialist plumbers or electricians, but if you just need someone to come over to hang up your new ceiling fan or light fixtures safely, fix your broken garage door opener, or drywall your basement, they're perfect. I also had them come over to build me some raised vegetable garden boxes and they're terrific. They're good workers, quick, and do quality work. English and Spanish speaking, and don't give you that glazed look like they don't understand what you're talking about when giving instructions. They're top notch.
