When going to Mayfair park make sure to visit the little gravel trail to the far north edge of the park. That is the Smoky Hills North Trail. This trail was used in the early 1800's when settlers from the east first traveled to Denver. There are signs located along the trail that give a small glimpse of what life was like for early settlers traveling thousands and thousands of miles by horse and wagon along dirt trails.
