So calling it : best Borek in Oz. Mecca Bah has had mixed reviews. Today had a most excellent meal with 2 mezze and a tagine dish. We had cauliflower with pine nuts, lamb borek and chicken tagine. The lamb borek transported me back to Istanbul circa 2001. So delicious. The tagine was actually very good and I have no idea why there have been negative reviews. The portion was enough to be shared, chicken moist and tender with a slight sweetness. The cauliflower balanced everything out. For 2 people, this was satisfying without being over the top. Will definitely look forward to coming back here and fervently hope a Mecca Bah will open in Perth! ***we had no reservations but scored a seat immediately and food served within 10 minutes.
