Wow. No... wow is an understatement. This place is just really special. It's only been open about a month, and it runs like a well oiled machine. Chef Love walks around and ensures everything is running smoothly, he talks to tables as he walks by. The servers and server assistants are all extremely nice and attentive. Our server was Cici (hope I spelled that right), and she was just a delightful person, she drives in from Boyd and she really enjoys working at Meraki, it shows in her attitude. Her and the assistants like Isabella and... Jake (?) and a guy with glasses (he comes up next), they made our experience so enjoyable. Everyone smiled, everyone was sweet to us. I will say there was a manager who was a little severe when our server assistant dropped a glass at a nearby table (unless my date and I misinterpreted the manager's demeanor). I wanted to give the guy who dropped the glass a hug or something, he had been so nice to us. Now for the food - it's absolutely insane. There is no better way to say it. And I love that the portions are appropriately sized. I hate when restaurants give me a plate with 2 pounds of just okay food. At Meraki, we had plenty to eat and the food was some of the best I've ever had. It was all light and the portions were perfect. We felt amazing when we left instead of overly full and miserable. The dip trio comes with pita that's fresh from the oven. It smells like a whole bakery has been delivered to your table. The hummus and pimento cheese are so incredibly well balanced and the flavors were out of this world. The Spanikopita was a favorite of mine, and the broccolini and lemon domino potato sides were delicious. But the star was definitely the salt baked halibut, it was the best part of the whole evening. I have never had anything like it before. It came with a citrus beurre blanc that is unlike any sauce I've ever had. It was so silky, so luxurious, and still somehow so light. Even without the beurre blanc, I could eat that fish at every meal. We couldn't eat anymore so they boxed up what was left of our sides, and we got the Galatupia dessert to go. It held up perfectly in the refrigerator and was so delicious. I have never had an experience like this before. It felt like the Mediterranean from the moment we walked through the doors. Even the precious stencils on the floor were so lovely and added to the atmosphere. We will be back for that halibut without a doubt, and to try a few other items on the menu.
