We were a group of 6 people celebrating my mother in laws 60th birthday. We wanted to do something special and different this year aside from going to a Chinese banquet for dinner. Reservations we easy to make, they let us bring a cake and store it until we were ready for it. Staff were friendly, the MOD on duty that night (I assume) was very friendly and helpful. Explaining to us, who were first timers how the place ran and personally showed us to our table. However, service was slow even though it was a full team of staffers. Our teapot was empty and sat empty for a while after the 2nd refill attempt. Food here is quite pricey imo, we got the A5 wagyu and assorted meats selection which normally feeds 2-3 people and came with kimchi pancakes, bulgogi noodles (essentially udon with beef), a choice between their signature miga salad or a side of lettuce for the meats, rice and "gelato". Side dishes which they refilled twice and some dipping sauces for the meats were included. We also ordered an extra order of kimchi pancakes, rice cakes with cheese and bibimbap rice. I appreciate them giving us a few extra portions to feed at least 5-6 people rather than the standard 2-3 which included extra rice and a few more slices of the beef chuck. I know A5 is expensive but it would have been nice to get 6 pcs rather than 5pcs. One ended up not having the A5 wagyu and the portions were small, everyone essentially filled up on rice which came when we were almost done eating the meats. All the other noodle/rice dishes were pretty small, we joked about going to McDonald's afterwards. Finally, the "Gelato" which tasted like it was ice cream - specifically chapmans, took forever to arrive. The service just went downhill from there, not sure why it took so long even though there were 2-3 tables left not including ours. All the staff were busy cleaning up for the evening and just didn't bother until we gave them a look and that's when one realized and finally gave us our ice cream. Not to mention there was a miscommunication with the flavors, we were told it was vanilla and coffee, turns out it was vanilla and chocolate. I'll stick with Daldongnae next time. read more
